Tune Protect Malaysia Steps Up with 2,525 Volunteer Hours in 2025
Tune Protect Malaysia volunteer initiatives made real impact in 2025, with the insurance group clocking 2,525 volunteer hours across environmental, food security and financial literacy programmes nationwide. More than 90 percent of its employees rolled up their sleeves, proving that corporate responsibility can be hands on, community driven and genuinely meaningful.
From planting mangroves to teaching students how to manage money, Tune Protect wrapped up the year with actions that went beyond talk and straight into impact.
From Mangroves to Urban Farms, Real Action on the Ground

One of the biggest highlights came through Tune Protect’s collaboration with Harian Metro under the Titipan Kasih Syawal programme in Sabak Bernam, Selangor. Volunteers worked alongside local communities to restore coastal ecosystems and support families in need.
What they achieved on the ground
- 500 mangrove saplings planted to strengthen coastal resilience
- 70 fruit trees added to improve long term food security
- Beach clean up activities with local residents
- Kotak Rezeki distributed to 30 underprivileged families
The initiative combined environmental action with community care, creating impact that lasts beyond a single day.

Growing Food, Building Communities in Petaling Jaya

Food security took centre stage through Tune Protect’s Grow and Give programme with Sunway XFarms. At Medan Jaya Apartments in Petaling Jaya, volunteers installed four solar powered hydroponic units to support community led urban farming.
Since May 2025, the project has
- Completed eight growing cycles
- Produced 22.4kg of pesticide free vegetables
- Distributed 234 vegetable bags to residents
By May 2026, the initiative is expected to yield up to 134kg of fresh produce, helping communities access nutritious food while learning sustainable farming skills.
Making Financial Literacy Fun for Students
Tune Protect also invested in future generations through the Program Celik Kewangan Harian Metro Bersama Tune Protect, held in schools across Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Kedah and Johor.
Students learned practical money skills through
- Budgeting games
- Smart spending challenges
- Savings and financial planning activities
The sessions were designed to be interactive and relatable, turning financial education into something students could actually enjoy and remember.
A Bigger Vision Beyond 2025
According to Tune Protect Chief Strategy Officer Koot Chiew Ling, the company’s volunteer efforts are part of a longer journey.
With a pledge to deliver 6,000 volunteer hours by 2027, Tune Protect Malaysia volunteer initiatives are focused on building lasting value for communities, especially in environmental conservation, food resilience and youth empowerment.
This is corporate responsibility that feels human, relevant and rooted in real Malaysian communities.
