Penhaligon’s, the legendary British fragrance house, just marked its 155th anniversary with a stunning three-day exhibition at Silverfox, Kuala Lumpur. From 15 to 17 August 2025, Malaysian fans experienced an immersive journey through scent, history, and artistry. Proving that luxury perfumery is more than fragrance, it’s a story you can live.
A Fragrant Story That Began in 1870
Founded by Cornish barber William Henry Penhaligon in London, the house has grown from a small barbershop into a world-renowned fragrance brand. Its first creation, Hammam Bouquet (1872), still exists today, a rare feat in the fragrance world. Over the years, Penhaligon’s has earned four Royal Warrants, sealing its status as a true perfumed icon.

The Kuala Lumpur showcase blended museum-style storytelling with interactive scent stations, archival treasures, and modern classics. Highlights included:
- Rare archival pieces like silver-plated fragrance bottles and a candle container
- Displays tracing the journey from Victorian-era grooming rituals to today’s Portraits and Potions & Remedies collections
- A photowall and redemption corner where visitors walked away with fragrance samples and a signature Penhaligon’s scarf

- RM500 spend → minisprays + Luna Hand Cream
- RM800 spend → Portraits Collection Discovery Set

Even though the exhibition has wrapped, Penhaligon’s continues to shape luxury fragrance culture worldwide. For Malaysian Gen Z drawn to experiential luxury and storytelling brands, Penhaligon’s shows how tradition and creativity can blend seamlessly.
