Munchy’s is turning 35, and instead of keeping the celebration in the boardroom, the Malaysian biscuit brand is taking it straight to the people. For its Munchy’s Malaysia 35th anniversary, the brand is celebrating National Day and Malaysia Day 2026 with a first ever appearance at the National Day Parade and a nationwide initiative dedicated to Malaysians who keep the country moving.
Under the theme “Taste Munchy’s, Taste Happiness”, the celebration is built around something pretty familiar to Malaysians: shared everyday moments.
From school recess to family gatherings and festive open houses, Munchy’s has been part of the snack rotation for generations. Now, the brand is using its 35th anniversary to spotlight the people behind some of the country’s most important everyday moments.
Munchy’s Malaysia 35th Anniversary Hits the National Day Parade
On 31 August 2026, Munchy’s made its debut as a marching contingent at the National Day Parade at Dataran Putrajaya.
The contingent was made up of Munchy’s employees, who represented the brand while celebrating Merdeka alongside thousands of Malaysians.
It was also the third consecutive year that Munchy’s supported Malaysia’s national celebrations, with this year’s efforts including an RM500,000 in kind product contribution.
For the brand, the parade was more than a corporate appearance. It gave employees the chance to celebrate Merdeka together while bringing Munchy’s 35th anniversary into one of Malaysia’s biggest national moments.
From Biscuits to Giving Back: Powering Malaysia’s Heroes

The other major part of the Munchy’s Malaysia 35th anniversary celebration is Powering Malaysia’s Heroes, a nationwide employee led initiative recognising people who protect, care for and educate Malaysians.
Munchy’s teams delivered product contributions to close to 100 locations across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
The recipients included:
- Royal Malaysia Police facilities
- Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia facilities
- Malaysia Civil Defence Force locations
- Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency facilities
- Hospitals
- Schools
So yes, there are biscuits involved. But the bigger idea is about recognising the people who are working behind the scenes, on the front lines and in classrooms every day.
A Malaysian Snack With 35 Years of Memories
There is something very Malaysian about the way snacks become part of our memories.
A biscuit during school break. Something passed around during a family gathering. A tin opened when relatives come over during festive season. The snack itself might be simple, but the moment around it becomes the memory.
That is the connection Munchy’s is leaning into for its 35th anniversary.
Rather than simply celebrating how long the brand has been around, the campaign looks at the people and everyday moments that have grown alongside it.
Why Munchy’s Is Putting People at the Centre
For brands celebrating big milestones, the challenge is often making an anniversary feel relevant beyond the company itself.
Munchy’s approach is to connect its 35th year with a bigger national moment.
National Day + Malaysia Day + everyday Malaysian moments + people who serve the country.
It gives the anniversary a community angle that feels particularly timely as Malaysia continues building towards Visit Malaysia 2026 and a year of increased focus on showcasing the country.
At its core, Munchy’s Malaysia 35th anniversary is less about looking back and more about acknowledging the people who continue shaping everyday Malaysian life.
35 Years Later, the Snack Is Still Part of the Moment
Munchy’s 35th anniversary celebration brings together two very Malaysian ideas: shared moments and shared responsibility.
From its first National Day Parade appearance to Powering Malaysia’s Heroes reaching almost 100 locations nationwide, the campaign turns a brand milestone into an opportunity to celebrate the people around it.
Because sometimes, happiness is not about the big things.
Sometimes it is simply a biscuit during recess, something to share at home, or a small gesture of appreciation for someone doing their part to keep Malaysia moving.
And that is where Munchy’s Malaysia 35th anniversary comes full circle.
